Did i overdo it?

I purchased this engagement ring for my girlfriend, and went with full carat diamond. I had some money set aside, so it didn't seem overly extravagant to me. My girlfriend, however, can't get over the size of the diamond and is nervous about wearing it in public because she's afraid its too showy. Bummer. But she'll relax soon and be a sport and wear it.
